The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Sugar Land would like to invite everyone in the Sugar Land community to the fight against cancer. This year’s key event will be held at 7PM, Friday, April 27 at Oyster Creek Park. The park is located at 4033 State Highway 6 South Sugar Land, Texas 77479.
Every year the America Cancer Society gathers survivors, care givers, and family and friends to share support and understanding of the challenges that unfortunately affect loved ones. Relay is made up of fundraising teams, which on the day of the event, gather to camp out at Oyster Creek Park and take turns walking or running around the path. Participants are encouraged to take part in the multitude of fun events throughout the night including costume contests, turkey tosses, art fairs, and many more. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.
Because cancer never sleeps, Relay is an overnight event. Participants are encouraged to participate in the multiple events throughout the night. Relays are different every year but tradition stands that there is always a Survivor Lap, The Luminaria Ceremony, and the Fight Back Ceremony.
