Hightower High School’s Medical Science Academy will host its third annual Summer Medical Science Camp on June 7 and 8, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the campus (3333 Hurricane Lane, Missouri City, 77459). Students who have an interest in healthcare professions and are entering grades 5-8 are encouraged to apply.
Camp attendees will take part in discussions and activities focusing on the following:
1. High school academics, college and career opportunities
2. Body systems – form and function
3. The world of the microscope
4. Leadership development
5. Environmental health
6. Hands on forensics
7. Veterinary science
8. Parasitological nutrition
The cost is $80. Registration will take place Saturday, May 12, in the Hightower lobby, beginning at 9:00 am. (Registration will not be taken early or via mail.) Before and after camp care is also available from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm for an additional $10 charge. Parents and legal guardians must arrange for transportation to and from camp. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
Scholarships and financial assistance is available for students who qualify for free or reduced-riced school meals. If interested, please submit proof of eligibility from your child’s school at the time of registration.
