Fort Bend ISD is reopening the application process for entry into three of its high school academies: the Digital Media Academy, Engineering Academy and the International Business and Marketing Academy. Students interested in attending one of these academies during the 2013-2014 school year may apply online through April 12, 2013. Students must complete and submit the online application, which includes an essay and two teacher recommendations, by the deadline.
The Digital Media Academy at Hightower High School offers students hands-on experiences with some of the latest, industry-standard digital technology available to help provide them with the means to make an informed decision about a career path in filmmaking, broadcasting, and digital graphics.
Elkins High School’s Engineering Academy program teaches students the basic concepts and principles of engineering, helps them explore the relationship of computers and other technologies, and develop computer systems, program robotics equipment, create presentations, simulations and graphics.
Through the International Business and Marketing Academy at Bush High School, students have the opportunity to receive a strong academic foundation focusing on business, marketing, finance and international studies. Students can also earn college credit through the College Now program.
