Staff from the Houston-Galveston Area Council will be in For Bend County this month to take applications for the Ike Disaster Recovery Program.
The program is designed to offer assistance in making repairs to homes that were damaged as a result of Hurricane Ike. Residents in Fort Bend, may be eligible for assistance.
Eligible applicants include low- to moderate-income homeowners who lived in the home at the time of the hurricane. The home must also have existing damage and be the primary residence of the homeowner.
Additional eligibility requirements may apply.
“Many families are still living in homes that sustained damage from Hurricane Ike,” said Chuck Wemple, H-GAC Housing Program Manager. “We are eager to help those who have been dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ike.”
H-GAC staff will accept applications at the following locations:
