If you crave the spotlight and enjoy baseball the Sugar Land Skeeters want you. The team is hosting an open audition for home game entertainment acts and other performance related positions during an open audition on Saturday, February 18 from at the Imperial Theater in Sugar Land. Those who audition will be competing for the opportunity to work for the Skeeters in key positions and the chance to perform at Historic Opening Day on April 26 and other games throughout the season.
“Not only are we trying to fill traditional baseball positions, like public address announcers and national anthem singers, but we are also looking for all sorts of entertainers and personalities,” said Tom Gorman, Executive Producer for the Sugar Land Skeeters. “We are very curious to see what talents Sugar Land and the greater Houston area can bring to the stadium.”
The day will begin with the Public Address Announcer auditions from 8:30 a.m. – noon. The PA Announcer is responsible for all in-stadium game day announcing. A small sample game script will be provided to read at the audition. General Talent auditions will be from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Each performer will be given three minutes to perform. Music acts are requested to play an acoustic performance, and singers are asked to sing a cappella.
Those attending the auditions are asked to pre-register by filling out the form located on the Skeeter’s website www.SugarLandSkeeters.com. The registration deadline is Feb. 15.
