Three of the region’s top chefs will appear at the Farmers Market and More at Imperial to perform demonstrations and provide an up-close look at how they use fresh-from-the-field items to prepare their award-winning cuisine.
Presented by the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, the all-new Farmers Market at Imperial will be held every Saturday into December, beginning October 1, from 9 am – 1 pm rain or shine. A massive, covered pavilion will house the event at Highway 90 and Ulrich Street in front of the Imperial Sugar silos and historic Char House.
Chef Andrew Larue with Abuso Catering will present his approach to the finest in fresh cuisine on Saturday, October 8. Chef Frederic Perrier from AURA, renowned for his mastery of French classical and bistro cooking, will appear October 22 while Chef Randy Evans, who relies on the flavors of Texas at his new restaurant, Haven, will appear November 12.
While at the Farmers Market, visitors can purchase local cheeses, fresh-baked goods, jam, honey, fresh-cut flowers and more. Besides the cooking demonstrations, the event will present live music, children’s activities and appearances by the Sugar Land Skeeters mascot, turning this traditional Farmers Market into a festival of food and fun.
The first 100 shoppers on October 1, opening day of the Farmers Market at Imperial, will receive free Farmers Market shopping bags. Plus, Berryhill Baja Grill will be serving freshly-made breakfast tacos and fresh-squeezed orange juice every week.
