Pecan Grove resident Terry Jude Miller recently won a first place in the 2017 National Federation of State Poetry Societies Annual Competition. His poem, “Komunyakaa’s Longhand,” won first place in contest #32, sponsored by the Poetry Society of Michigan. His poem was selected by poet Ginny Conners. Miller also won four honorable mentions in other contests.
