After two bank robberies in Fort Bend County, two suspects have been identified and one of them arrested.
The first robbery attributed to the two identified suspects occurred on Friday, October 3, at the Capital One Bank in the 23900 block of Westheimer Parkway in the Cinco Ranch area. According to sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, in that robbery, Johnathan Charles Simmons, 22, and Ashley Ann Jackson, also 22, and other unidentified co-conspirators entered the Capital One Bank about 11:30 in the morning, held up the bank and left with cash.
Then just days later, according to Haenel, On October 6, Simmons and Jackson and two other unidentified suspects robbed the IBC Bank in the 10500 block of State Highway 6 South at West Belfort. Again, they got away.
However, about 1:15 on the afternoon of Thursday, October 13, Johnathan Charles Simmons, 22, was arrested and taken into custody for his part in the robberies from a home near the intersection of Fondren and South Main in Houston. That arrest was made by sheriff’s deputies and the U.S. Marshals’ Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
Haenel said, “Authorities are still looking for three other suspects who were involved in the robberies. One of those suspects has been identified as Ashley Ann Jackson, 22, of Houston.” Haenel added that in both cases, the robbers rushed into the banks brandishing handguns and demanding cash.
