Support the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County by shopping at Barnes & Noble in Sugar Land from December 9-11. In an effort to eradicate illiteracy in our community, the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County is working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers to host a bookfair at the Barnes & Noble First Colony Mall store.
On December 9 through December 11, Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of every sale made with a special bookfair voucher to the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County. Vouchers are available online at the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County’s website, www.ftbendliteracy.org and in hard copy at the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County. In addition, purchases made online from December 9-16 will also support the Literacy Council when the Bookfair ID# 10610038 is entered at checkout.
Events and programs to entertain bookfair attendees will be held at Barnes & Noble throughout the weekend of December 9-11, 2011. There will be a Mother Goose Story Time at 5:00 p.m. and Polar Express Pajama Story Time with craft at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., there will be multiple authors in the store signing copies of their books. Guest authors include Jimmy Wynn, Mimi Jefferson, Daniel Flores and Darla Marx. The weekend will conclude with a book signing by Jan Bethancourt on Sunday.
