The proceeds from the Gala fund programs to provide support and assistance to all emergency responders in Fort Bend County.
Some of the programs supported by Behind The Badge Charities include the “10-33” Officer Assistance Fund www.behindthebadgecharities.org/10-33-Officer-Assistance-Fund.html> which provides need-based grants to individual public safety officers who have suffered injury, serious illness, or other disaster that traditional insurance or other assistance has not covered. The Fallen Officers Memorial Scholarships www.behindthebadgecharities.org/The-Fallen-Officers-Memorial-Scholarships.html> provides academic scholarships to the children or dependents of qualified public safety officers. Individual scholarships are dedicated to the memory of officers killed in the line of duty. The inaugural scholarship was dedicated to the memory of Fort Bend County Deputy Sheriff John “JD” Norsworthy.
They also provide grants and sponsor various youth and community activities throughout Fort Bend County to raise awareness of the charity and to improve public perception of emergency responders who serve in our community.
