Brazos Bend Guardianship Services (BBGS) has launched a Volunteer Guardian Angel Program thanks to a very generous donation from the Fort Bend Teen Service League. A Volunteer Guardian Angel will be paired with one of our clients in our Corporate Guardianship Program. These are incapacitated Fort Bend County residents that might live in a nursing home, a group home, or Richmond State Supported Living Center. The residents typically have no family support and could benefit from the support of a volunteer who will see them at least 2 times a month.
The volunteer will take their assigned client a gift on their birthday and for 2 holidays during the year. The goal of the program is for the volunteer to build a rapport with their client and to check on their client. A Volunteer Guardian Angel must be at least 21 years of age and be willing to make at least a 6 month commitment and be willing to complete an application process. For a complete volunteer job description please go to our website www.brazosbendguardianship.org and look under Volunteer Opportunities. A Volunteer Application can also be downloaded in the same section of the website.
