Thursday morning about 9:50 am, Richmond police officers responded to a traffic accident in the 200 block of Hwy 90A, eastbound near the Gold Connection and several other businesses.
According to police spokesman Master Sergeant Lowell Neinast, the investigation revealed that two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Hwy 90A in separate lanes of traffic.
The driver of the white 2011 Hyundai Elantra was traveling in the right lane and tried to change over to the left lane so she could turn around at the next crossover.
The vehicle that was traveling in the left lane, a Hyundai Santa Fe, struck the white Elantra causing the driver of the Elantra to lose control. The Elantra ended up striking a parked vehicle in a business parking lot in the 200 block of Hwy 90A. The parked vehicle was pushed into another vehicle which in turn was pushed into a third vehicle, said Neinast.
The chain reaction crash caused damage to all three parked vehicles and a sign in front of the business at that location.
The driver of the white Hyundai Elantra was transported to Oak Bend Emergency Room for minor injuries sustained during the accident. No other injuries were reported.
