Sugar Land Branch Library will have E-Reader Question-and-Answer sessions every Tuesday in April, from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm, in the Conference Room of the library, located at 550 Eldridge.

Library staff will be available at these come-and-go sessions to answer questions about different types of e-readers, using the library’s online digital library, and downloading e-books.

The sessions are free and open to the public. Reservations are not required. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2140 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.

Matthew Robert Chesney and Amanda Marie Mrotek

Tom & Barbara Chesney of Sugar Land, Texas and Richard Mrotek & Ann Mrotek of Appleton, Wisconsin are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Lieutenant Matthew Robert Chesney and Amanda Marie Mrotek.

Matthew earned his BS in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 2008.  He is currently serving as a Naval Aviator in the United States Navy and is presently stationed at NAS Lemoore California. Amanda earned her BS in Marketing from the University of Minnesota in 2008 and will complete her Masters of Education from the University of Southern California in May 2013.

Matthew and Amanda will be united in marriage July 6, 2013 in Lake Tahoe, California.

Justina Ann Jones and Brannon Kyle Moncrief

Joe Jones of Katy and Mel and Maye Moncrief of Sugar Land  are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Justina Ann Jones and Brannon Kyle Moncrief.

Justina is a 2004 graduate of Katy Taylor High School and attended the University of Houston where she received a degree in political science. She works as a consultant with Westlake Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in Austin.

Brannon is a 1998 graduate of Kempner High School in Sugar Land and attended Texas A&M University where he earned a degree in finance.  Brannon is a partner of McLerran and Associates, a dental practice brokerage firm in Austin.

A June 2013 wedding has been planned in the Texas Hill Country.

Wesley Allen Geddes and Whitney Jane Holland

Mr. & Mrs. Mark Holland of Sugar Land proudly announce the engagement of their daughter Whitney Jane Holland to Mr. Wesley Allen Geddes of Pasadena, Texas. The groom is the son of Mrs. Deborah Duke of Orange, Texas  and the late Mr. David Geddes.  The couple will wed on March 9, 2013 and continue to reside in Houston.

Todd Robert Metzgar & Lauren Elizabeth Markert

Alan and Connie Markert of San Antonio, Texas and Craig and Terri Metzgar of Sugar Land, Texas are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Lauren Elizabeth Markert and Todd Robert Metzgar.

Lauren is a 2005 graduate of Churchill High School in San Antonio. She attended Texas Tech University where she received a degree in public relations in 2008. Lauren earned her MBA in marketing in 2009 also from Texas Tech University. She works as a marketing specialist at McKesson in The Woodlands.

Todd is a 2003 graduate of Kempner High School in Sugar Land. He attended Texas Tech University where he earned his undergraduate degree in 2007 and an MBA in finance in 2009. Todd works for Rainbolt and Alexander, Inc. in Houston where he is an analyst/consultant.

An October 2013 wedding is being planned.

A destination wedding is being planned for Spring 2013.

Candice and Josh are 2005 graduates of Elkins High School. She graduated from Texas State University in 2009 with a Bachelor in Fine Art with a minor in Business Management. Candice is employed as a Sales Manager with Vivan Jade. Josh is continuing his studies at University of Houston and plans to graduate in December of 2013 with a major in Economics.  He is currently employed with Prosperity Bank.

Dr. and Mrs. Alan E. Felthous of Cardondale

Dr. and Mrs. Alan E. Felthous of Cardondale, Illinois announce the engagement and of their daughter Elizabeth to Charles Lowery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lowery of Missouri City.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Illinois University where she received a Bachelor of Science and a 2004 graduate of Sam Houston State University where she received a Master of Arts in Educational Counseling. Elizabeth is currently in private practice.

The groom-elect from the class of  2005 at Texas A & M University Galveston where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology.  He is currently teaching AP Environmental Science and Chemistry in Waller ISD where he is a teacher/team leader.

The couple will exchange vows on January 5, 2013 at Moody United Methodist Church in Galveston.

The bride elect is a 2003 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, and  a 2007 graduate of Texas State University. While at Texas State, Kristina served on the executive board of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Sweeny High School, and received his Bachelor’s in Business from Sam Houston State University in 2007 where he was also a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

The couple is set to be married September 15th, 2012 at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas with their wedding reception to be held in the Sugar Land Ballroom at the Marriott Sugar Land Town Square.

Following the wedding the couple will be making their home in Richmond, Texas.

Stephani is a 2007 graduate of Canyon High School in Canyon, Texas, and a 2011 graduate of Texas Tech University.  She graduated with a B.S. in Sports/Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology and is currently pursuing a degree in nursing.

John-Wesley is a 2005 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land, Texas, and a 2010 graduate of Texas Tech University. He graduated with a B.S. in Management Information Systems and is currently employed with Halliburton.

A June wedding is planned in Amarillo, Texas.

Lauren and Andrew graduated from Elkins High School in 2004.

A summer wedding is planned in Boerne, TX.
