Late Community Leader Cliff Terrell to be honored
The Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance will present its 2013 State of the Schools Address at its April 11 Business Luncheon.
The luncheon, which is presented by Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pecan Grove Country Club, 3000 Plantation Drive in Richmond.
Lamar Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Thomas Randle and Needville ISD Superintendent Curtis Rhodes will provide updates on the achievements and direction of their respective districts.
Two-time Central Fort Bend Chamber President Cliff Terrell, who died on March 26 at 81, will be honored with the Fort Bend Vision Award, which will be presented to his wife, Roberta. Terrell was instrumental in numerous economic development projects and was involved deeply with education efforts in Fort Bend County. He served as a consultant for Wharton County Junior College until his death, helped create the Fort Bend Literacy Council and was also a key figure in attracting Richmond State Supported Living Center and Fort Bend Technical Center to Richmond.
Reservations for the luncheon are $30 for Chamber members and $40 for prospective members and guests. After April 5 at 5 p.m., a $10 late fee will be added.
