Power Hour at Marriott Springhill Suites of Rosenberg to Focus on Identity Theft
Identity theft is a growing concern in the United States, especially among members of the post-Baby Boom generations, who increasingly rely upon online services to conduct both their financial and personal business.
On July 11, Kandice Gremillion from LegalShield will be the guest speaker at the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance Young Professionals Division’s second Power Hour Educational Breakfast. Gremillion will present information about identity theft and ways to guard against it.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice:
• In 2010, 7 percent of households in the U.S., or about 8.6 million households, had at least one member age 12 or older who experienced one or more types of identity theft victimization.
• Among households in which at least one member experienced one or more types of identity theft, 64.1 percent experienced the misuse or attempted misuse of an existing credit card account in 2010.
The breakfast, which will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Marriott Springhill Suites of Rosenberg (6815 Reading Road), is free to Chamber members and $10 for non-members. Contact Angie Wierzbicki at 281-342-5464 or firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
The Young Professionals Division was founded in 2009. The YPD strives to provide an environment in which to build relationships with likeminded young professionals in our community.
