Friends and classmates of Stafford High head baseball coach Michael Mesa have decided to organize a Charity Baseball Game in his honor at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the Stafford High Baseball Field.
Coach Mesa passed away unexpectedly two weeks ago at age 26, and a cause of death is still unknown. All of the proceeds from the charity game will go toward the Stafford High baseball program – which Mesa dedicated so much of his time to building – and his family. The game will feature the SHS varsity vs. SHS alumni, and admission is $5.
The game is made possible by Justin Montez, Jo Anne Felonia and the vision of Michael Mesa.
The National Anthem will be performed by Taylor Rasberry at 6:45 p.m. and the ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Leandro and Laura at 6:55 p.m. The game will start at 7:05 p.m.
The cost is $5 per ticket. For tickets, contact Stafford High School, Justin Montez at 832-285-4182 or Jo Anne Felonia at 832-628-0489.
Baked goods and keychain keepsakes will be available at the game.
