After a successful fundraising event on May 5, Andres and Rachel Novoa, owners of La Cocina Mexican Restaurant, and the event planning committee for the 7th Annual Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser, presented a check for $27,046 to Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels at a Sugar Land Skeeters pre-game event on July 30.
Through the continued corporate and individual support this festive event, Andres and Rachel, has been able to donate over $157,000 to help feed older adults in Fort Bend County.
“We are fortunate to live in a community where giving back is a standard,” said Andres Novoa. “Hosting this annual event is my way of supporting the individuals who made Fort Bend County what it is today.”
“Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels is blessed to have Andres and his volunteer team organize this wonderfully, festive event to raise money to help alleviate senior hunger in Fort Bend,” said Manuela Arroyos, Fort Bend Seniors Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to a long partnership with Andres, Rachel and La Cocina Mexican Restaurant.”
