The Honorable Judge Ron Pope and The Honorable Judge Brenda Mullinex kick off National Adoption Day to help finalize more than 3,000 adoptions nationwide.
This Friday the Fort Bend County 328th and 387th District Courts are joining forces with courts across the country opening their doors on National Adoption Day to finalize adoptions of children from foster care and to celebrate all families who adopt.
Here in Fort Bend County, the 328th and 387th District Courts, Child Advocates of Fort Bend and its partners: Bikers Against Child Abuse, Child Protective Services, Exchange Club of Rosenberg, Fort Bend Bar Association, Fort Bend County Attorney’s Office, Fort Bend Lawyers Care, the Fort Bend Court Team for Maltreated Infants and Toddlers and local attorneys are all participating in this special day by working together to celebrate the joys of adoption and encourage more families and individuals to give children save and permanent homes.
About National Adoption Day:
National Adoption Day is sponsored by a coalition of national partners – The Alliance for Children’s Rights, Casey Family Services, Children’s Action Network, The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Freddie Mac Foundation and Target Corporation– to draw attention to the 129,000 foster children waiting for adoption in the United States and to celebrate all loving families who adopt.
Fort Bend Co. National Adoption Day Celebration will include:
• Finalize the adoption of 16 children (including 4 CPS child)
• Celebrate, honor, and thank adoptive families
• Provide information about adoption to would-be adoptive parents
• Families who have adopted children
• Judges & attorneys
• CASA Volunteers who have helped children find safe and permanent homes.
This event will be held at the Fort Bend County Justice Center, 1422 Eugene Heimann Circle, Richmond, on November 22, 8:30 a.m. in the 328th District Court and 9:00 a.m. in the 387th District Court.
