In what has become an annual event, the City of Fulshear will celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day by inviting the community to participate in this always fun, sometimes silly and often irreverent observation of this traditional Irish Holiday. The City of Fulshear will become the “Emerald Isle” as they host their annual Saint Patrick’s Day festivities on Saturday, March 17, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
“Each year, participation in the Saint Patrick’s Day event has grown” says Cheryl Stalinsky, Fulshear’s Economic Development Director. “We expect this year’s celebration to be better than ever and we hope the whole community will turn out”.
This year, the afternoon’s festivities will begin with a fun community parade to celebrate the “Wearin’ of the Green”. With a bagpiper leading the way, the parade will feature antique cars, floats and community groups. Parade Signup information can be found on the City’s new web site: FulshearTexas.gov.
Live entertainment will be provided for visitors following the parade. The musical centerpiece for the event will feature traditional Irish dancers and live music by the popular musical group “Audio Byte”. The stage will be set up in downtown Fulshear at the corner FM 359 and 1st Street, across from The Sweet Tooth Shoppe.
Community groups and vendors will have booths offering Irish themed treats and prizes as well as gift items for sale. A face painter will be on hand to area help kids celebrate the day. A free “walking raffle” will give visitors a chance to win gift baskets with items provided by local merchants. Admission to the event is free.
The City is offering free booth space to groups and vendors on a first-come, first-served basis. Booth registration is required. Contact Anne Frye at email@example.com for booth registration details.
No matter what your family says your roots are, on Saint Patrick’s Day, everyone’s Irish. So, make your plans now to be in Fulshear this Saint Patrick’s Day as we all join in the festivities and celebrate Fulshear’s Irish heritage.
