Break out the red, white and blue! City of Meadows Place will be holding their annual 4th of July Parade this Thursday at 10:00am and they want you to make plans to attend the “best hometown parade around.” This year the Meadows Elementary School celebrates their 40th year. The five living principals will be this year’s honored parade marshals. The City of Meadows Place would also like to honor its active military citizens. If you, or an active family member, will be in town during the 4th of July they would like for you to participate in the parade.
There is a new line-up location at Sugar Grove Church of Christ’s East parking lot, located at 11600 West Airport, for the participants and their non-motorized entries. Trophies will be given for Best Youth, Best Spirit, and Best Commercial by the Parks & Recreation department at the end of the parade. The judges are looking for patriotism, simplicity, originality, creativity, and community spirit. Get there by 9:30am for the judging.
The parade route travels from City Hall down Dorrance to Mulholland, left on Mulholland, and left on Brighton, concluding at McGrath Park. Afterwards, free water and snow cones will be provided by Sugar Grove Church of Christ. Bring your family, a picnic, a fishing pole, and celebrate this holiday with your fellow neighbors.
