Clements High’s Furlow named State Tennis Coach of the Year
Clements High tennis coach John Furlow has been named the Texas State High School Coach of the Year.
Furlow has coached the Rangers’ tennis program since the school opened in 1983. He’s taken two teams and more than 30 individuals to the state tournament.
He played collegiate tennis at Texas A&I University (now known as Texas A&M-Kingsville).
“What has made me who I am is that I have been surrounded by great coaches,” Furlow said. “That alone says volume about Coach Furlow, his unselfishly crediting so many others. He is also one of the most well respected and underrated tennis coaches in the State of Texas.”
