On Friday, November 11, Clements Cadets marched in the Annual Houston Salutes America Heroes Veterans Day Parade. This was a continuance of appreciation, because many of the cadets had participated in the Operations American Heroes Foundation, Honoring America’s Heroes event that was held at Sugar Creek Baptist Church on November 10.
The instructors devoted the entire week of their lesson plans toward instilling in the cadets the importance of not forgetting what others gave in order for them to share the freedom they now enjoy. The cliché, “Freedom isn’t Free” is something these cadets understand better. The lessons were reinforced by the many veterans that lined the parade route and saluted the flags as it past. “After today’s event, the cadets will cherish their freedom a little bit more,” quoted Lieutenant Commander Minnard, the Senior Naval Science Instructor at Clements.
The Clements Color Guard Detail concluded the day, by presenting Colors at the First Colony Mall Toys For Tots Kickoff celebration.
