Five area walks, presented by KBR, will be held on Oct. 22 and Nov. 12 – 13 to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
The Walk MS: Houston Series 2011, presented by KBR, will bring together approximately 4,200 Houston-area residents to celebrate hope for the future and raise funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Taking place on Oct. 22 and Nov. 12 – 13 in Katy, The Woodlands, Sugar Land, Kemah and Houston, Walk MS aims to collectively generate nearly $500,000 to support cutting-edge research initiatives, programs and services for more than 56,000 Texans impacted by MS.
Friends, family, co-workers and neighbors will come together for one- mile or 5K route accessible options and a day of family fun, including entertainment, refreshments and a MS Expo during Walk MS. There is no cost to register and no minimum pledge commitment; however, the average walker raises $225. Registration is currently open, and individuals interested in joining or creating a team can sign up online at www.walkmstexas.org.
“Walk MS events are integral to helping the more than 56,000 Texans living with the daily challenges of MS,” said Mark Neagli, Regional Executive Vice President. “With each step taken and every dollar raised, we are supporting crucial research and helping people move their lives forward.”
On Saturday, Nov. 12, Walk MS: Sugar Land will feature one mile and 5K route options. Walk MS Sugar Land will be held at Sugar Land Memorial Park, a new location for 2011.
