Blooming with beauty from Jujube, Mexican Plum and Mexican Persimmon trees, Missouri City’s Edible Arbor Trail is truly a site to see!

To celebrate the unique project; a ribbon-cutting celebration will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10 at noon at Oyster Creek Trail, just west of Murphy Road at Raoul Wallenberg Lane.

All residents are encouraged to attend the community ceremony and Parks’ staff will join the Quail Valley Garden Club in planting a new grove of trees.

The trail of trees and shrubs that will produce edible fruits and nuts, blossoms from Mosley Park to FM 3345, along the Missouri City section of Oyster Creek Trail. Ultimately, it will give visitors “a chance to experience and taste nature,” said Forester Paul Wierzbicki.

The environmental project is the first of its kind in the region and includes educational signage detailing tree facts and displaying sponsor logos.
