The Adult Services staff at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, will present a variety of free, introductory computer classes this month. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these computer programs.
The “Evaluating Internet Websites” class will take place on Tuesday, October 9, beginning at 7:00 pm, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to evaluate a website to determine if the information it contains is trustworthy, authoritative, and unbiased.
“MS Word Survival Basics” for version 2007 will take place on Wednesday, October 10, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab.
“MS Word: Intermediate” for version 2007 will take place on Wednesday, October 17, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn more advanced skills to use additional features of MS Word.
“Accelerated PowerPoint: Basics and Beyond,” for MS PowerPoint version 2007, will take place on Saturday, October 20, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab. This class combines basic survival skills and some intermediate techniques for using this slideshow-presentation program.
“Advanced MS Word: Research Papers,” for version 2007, will take place on Wednesday, October 24, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn how to use more advanced features of this word-processing program to format a research paper.
The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required.
