On Sept. 12, Fort Bend County Judge Robert Hebert reappointed Dr. Mary desVignes-Kendrick as the Fort Bend County Local Health Authority for a two-year term commencing Oct. 4.

The new term will be Dr. Kendrick’s fourth consecutive term serving as Local Health Authority for the county. Dr. Kendrick first filled the position on 2011. Her duties include administering state and local laws relating to public health within Fort Bend County as well as overseeing county public health related departments such as animal services, clinical health services, emergency medical service, environmental health, indigent health care, public health preparedness, and social services.

“I’m delighted to give the oath to Dr. Kendrick for another two-year term as our county local health authority,” Hebert said. “She has done an excellent job as our Director of Health and Human Services. She is a dedicated, competent medical professional.”
