In the season of giving, someone gave Crime Stoppers a tip. That tip kept on giving until the “Thanks” bandit was busted.
An anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers led Richmond police to the man believed to be the “Thanks” bank robber.
Tuesday morning, December 13, 2011, Robert Frederick Brink, 23, walked into the IBC Bank located at 5250 FM 1640 in Richmond, handed the teller a note that demanded cash. After the teller handed over the available cash, Brink reportedly said “Thanks” and left the bank. He was last seen getting into his Toyota truck that was parked at the Valero gas station and convenience store across the parking lot.
Based on the Crime Stoppers tip, detectives arrested Brink at his apartment and recovered most of the cash.
