Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward to any one who can lead authorities to the apprehension and filing of charges on the man who robbed a Walgreen’s store last Thursday.
Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, sheriff’s deputies responded to a business robbery in the 9300 block of Highway 6 South at about 10:40 a.m. According to Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, a Hispanic male entered the Walgreen’s store about 10:20 a.m. and appeared to be shopping. Reportedly, he took several items to a cash register and told the clerk he was going to get additional items. Upon his return, he pulled a handgun and demanded cash from the register, said Haenel.
The clerk complied and the suspect left the store with cash and merchandise. No physical injuries were reported.
Haenel described the suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 20 years old, about 5-feet, 6-inches in height and weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing a red-colored beanie cap and appeared to have a thin mustache and goatee. He was wearing a black sweat shirt with writing on the front. The clerk said he spoke with a Spanish accent.
The suspect was last seen running south across Bissonnet toward a drainage ditch behind a shopping center.
