Every year, the local DAR chapters invite area high schools to participate in the Good Citizen program. Each high school’s faculty and senior class choose one senior class member to receive the Good Citizen award.
National DAR guidelines require nominees to “possess and display qualities of honor, dependability, service, leadership and patriotism, the very same qualities displayed so admirably by our country’s forefathers.”
Each Good Citizen received a certificate and a pin. A reception followed the ceremony which included family, friends and DAR members.
