According to Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, deputies were notified to contact a man at Sugar Land’s Methodist hospital about 11:40 Monday night after he arrived, via private auto, for treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg.
Haenel said, “The victim told detectives he was playing basketball in Community Park, commonly known as Mustang Park, located at 4521 FM 521.” The victim also told deputies that he saw a black-colored vehicle drive up about 11 p.m., heard a gunshot, then felt pain in his left leg and realized he had been shot. Haenel said, the victim‘s friends took him home then a family member took him to the emergency room at Methodist hospital.
There was no other information available on the suspects nor any information about the victim.
