Domestic problems at a home in Sugar Land escalated to a shooting; estranged wife arrested for aggravated assault.
Friday evening about 8:30 pm., Sugar Land Police received a 911 call from a woman who said she shot her husband in the chest, said Sugar Land Police spokesman Doug Adolph. He said that she told authorities that there had been an argument and there was a pending divorce.
Adolph said police responded to the residence, a home in the 13800 block of Lynnwood in the Imperial Woods neighborhood. Once on the scene the victim, Peter Arnold, was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston via Life Flight. His estranged wife, Patricia Arnold, 53, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Further investigation into Fort Bend County court records indicates that the couple filed for divorce in March of 2011 and a temporary protective order was issued against Peter Arnold shortly thereafter. According to those same court records, the couple has yet to be divorced. According to Adolph, the last word on Peter Arnold’s condition was that he was stable.
Patricia Arnold was released from jail on bond and her next court date is scheduled for May 5, 2012. Peter Arnold was also on her bond.
