Fort Bend County residents have three sites to utilize for the semi-annual Drug Take-Back Day, set for Saturday, April 28. All locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to encourage the community to drop off unused or expired medication for safe disposal. Sites have been arranged at Fort Bend ISD, Lamar CISD and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
In West Fort Bend County, the Sheriff’s Office site will be the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy, 1521 Eugene Heimann Circle, Richmond, which is located across from the Fort Bend County Jail.
LCISD’s site will be at the Brazos Crossing Administration Building, 3911 Avenue I, Rosenberg.
The site in East Fort Bend County will be supported by the Fort Bend Community Prevention Coalition. The site is in the parking lot of FBISD’s Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd., in Sugar Land. Fort Bend ISD Police and DEA agents will be available to collect old drugs.
The National Drug Take-Back Day provides families with the opportunity to safely dispose unwanted or unused prescription medication.
The process is easy. Simply drive up to the collection site, roll down your car window and drop the medication in a secure box for safe disposal.
