Early Tuesday morning a man broke into a residence in the 900 block of Evandale in the New Territory subdivision. As the burglar made his way into the home he was surprised by and equally surprised homeowner.
Constable Troy Nehls’ Chief Deputy, Chad Norvell, said the homeowner yelled at the burglar and the burglar took flight. Norvell went on to credit the homeowner with assisting law enforcement because he provided such a good description of the suspect vehicle that it was easy for law enforcement to find the suspect in the morning traffic.
Just minutes after the fleeing burglar got onto Highway 90A and headed eastbound, a pursuit ensued into Sugar Land. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Muirwood and Seventh Street in the Sugar Land city limits when Reserve deputy constable Jim Willis and sheriff’s deputies arrested Nathan Mims, 21, of Houston.
Mims is in the Fort Bend County jail and charges are pending.
