Early voting in the various city and school elections in Fort Bend County is really low.
Rosenberg appears to be half of what it did in the last election.
District 4 in Sugar Land is showing a good turnout with that three-way race.
Willowridge and Aliana’s numbers are very low.
This is the feedback from the Fort Bend County Elections Administration about early voting Tuesday morning, and the last day for early voting for the May 14 election will have come to a close that day.
Based on the activity, John Oldham, the county’s elections administrator, said he expects the voter turnout this Saturday to be as low as three percent and as high as seven percent, but probably five percent. “Historically, we would be at five to seven percent”, he said and of course, “elections are not always the same.”
The number of registered voters in Fort Bend County is 305,762, reports Oldham and registered voters are being encouraged to exercise their right to vote.
Early election return results are expected to be available this Saturday at about 7:15 p.m., said Oldham. Complete election results on Saturday after the polls close are expected to also be posted on the county’s website, www.fortbendvotes.org, between 9:30 – 10 p.m.
For questions about polling locations, interested persons may visit the county’s website or call (281) 341-8670.
