Fort Bend Independent School District is proud to announce the names of eight students selected as semifinalists in the 2012 National Achievement Scholarship Program.
The students are: Shane St. Luce – Bush High School; Jamar Brooks, Victoria Diggs, Nicholas Johnson, Baher Michel – Clements High School; Julian Duodu – Dulles High School; Alexis Daniels – Hightower High School, and Jonathan Robinson – Kempner High School. Semifinalists are designated within geographic regions and are the highest-scoring program entrants in the states that make up each region.
These students represent more than 160,000 African-American high school juniors from all parts of the U.S. who requested consideration in the 2012 National Achievement Program when they took the 2010 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They will compete for one of 700 one-time National Achievement scholarships in the amount of $2,500, as well as about 100 corporate-sponsored Achievement Scholarship awards. The winners will be announced in early April.
