Demonstrating their usual charitable spirit, Elkins High School football players and coaches held their annual toy drive to benefit students at Lantern Lane Elementary School. Students and staff at Elkins generously donated more than 100 toys for the young students to enjoy.
The Elkins football team delivered the toys to Lantern Lane students who where identified by teachers as ideal candidates to receive gifts. The players filled empty tables in the school’s computer lab with the toys and allowed each child to select up to four toys. A drawing was also held to award a bicycle to one lucky student. The recipient of the bicycle was kindergarten student, Winnie Christopher.
