I am an employee of FBISD and have been for over 12 years in the Maintenance Department. I enjoy my job and I am happy to be employed with the district.
I am writing this letter to bring to the public’s attention some financial decisions that do not appear to be in the best interest of the children, or the hourly employees.
Within the last year, mid-level management positions have been created and hourly positions have been frozen. Zone managers were added which pay approximately $80,000 each. This adds up to almost a quarter of a million dollars combined, not including benefits.
We are adding new schools but not adding hourly positions which we desperately need in order to work safely and provide the children with safe and maintained schools they deserve.
For each zone manager position we could have added at least three hourly positions to maintain our increasing number of schools. We are in dire financial times and more mid-level managers does not get more schools maintained.
I ask that my name not be published for fear of retribution, however, all this information is public record.
