Fort Bend ISD is partnering with Advocates of Healthy Minds for a Family Fun Festival and Fun Run.
The event will take place at Constellation Field (1 Stadium Dr., Sugar Land) on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children (children under the age of 3 get in free). Tickets can be purchased at Constellation Field or online.
Runners can also sign up for the 5K Fun Run at www.signmeup.com/119569. The race starts at 7 a.m. for adults and 7:30 a.m. for kids.
Aside from the race, there will be music, food, games and much more for the entire family to enjoy. FBISD students and local artists will also be showcasing their artwork.
Advocates of Healthy Minds is a new non-profit agency that provides mental health awareness and resources to Fort Bend families. FBISD is partnering with the agency for “Step Up, Speak Up,” a new mental health awareness and bully prevention campaign.
The initiative will be led by students and will provide them with different venues, including video, art and poetry, to share how mental health and bullying has impacted them, and how they overcame their challenges.
