The Character Education Partnership (CEP) honored Fort Bend ISD for being named a 2011 National District of Character at the National Forum on Character Education. Accepting the award banner on behalf of the District were: Dr. Timothy Jenney, Superintendent; Dr. Olwen Herron, Chief Academic Officer; Dr. Bob Conlon, Director of Student Support Services; and Ilene Harper, Assistant Director, Student Support Services/Cultural Diversity.
The four also presented a brief overview of the District’s Character Education initiative at the National Forum.
FBISD is the only school district in the nation to be named a National District of Character this year and will serve as a model school district to help other districts transform their school cultures and improve academics and behavior.
