Fort Bend ISD will host an Educational Futures Conference on Wednesday, September 18, to seek input from parents and community members as the District prepares for continued growth and the current and future needs of its students.
The Educational Futures Conference will present a look at the needs of today’s students, how we are meeting those needs, and how we can best meet the needs of students in the future.
Discussions will be held concerning the global, national, and local factors affecting education and, most importantly, students in FBISD.
Topics will include educational delivery trends such as cross-curricular instruction, “flipped” classrooms, the incredibly rapid development of technology that can affect learning, content and curriculum delivery, changing realities of what it means to be “college and career ready,” strategies that high-performing schools use to ensure high achievement for all students, and many other topics concerning public education.
The Educational Futures Conference will be held two different times at the Fort Bend ISD Administrative Annex, 3119 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land.
• Wednesday, September 18, 1:00-3:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, September 18, 6:00-8:30 p.m.
All community members are invited to attend the meeting, including those who do not have students currently enrolled in FBISD schools, to participate in this conference to ensure the effectiveness of this planning process.
