The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) was pleased to award $2,500 Community Assistance Fund (CAF) Grants to Crisis Intervention of Houston, Inc., and Fort Bend Lawyers Care.
Crisis Intervention of Houston, Inc., (CIH) has served more than 2 million people in crisis. Through a collaborative effort, Crisis Intervention of Houston provides residents of Fort Bend County a hotline specific to middle and high school students in the Fort Bend county area and also provides crisis response to those students. FBJSL funding will be utilized for Suicide Prevention Training for teachers, school administrators, counselors and interested adults and will enable CIH to implement a much needed Survivors of Suicide support group.
Fort Bend Lawyers Care (FBLC) provides low-income Fort Bend County residents with equal access to justice through volunteer lawyers. FBLC will use FBJSL funding to support current program delivery and to provide for expansion of pro bono programs to low-income residents of Fort Bend County.
