The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) recently awarded $5,000 Community Assistance Fund (CAF) Grants to TW Davis Family YMCA and The Rose.
TW Davis Family YMCA will use the funds to provide swim lessons during the summer of 2012 at a low-income apartment complex in the Richmond/Rosenberg area. In addition to providing lessons, the YMCA will provide swim safety education to parents and apartment complex management. The YMCA provides a variety of programs for youth and families designed to help improve them in mind, body and spirit.
The Rose serves underserved, uninsured women by providing a host of breast care services at low or no cost to patients through the Empower Her Sponsorship Program. FBJSL funding will be used to help more than 700 uninsured Fort Bend County women gain access to lifesaving breast health care through this program.
FBJSL accepts CAF applications throughout the year for grant funding up to $5,000 per year. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations serving Fort Bend County with requests to fund a critical need, pilot program and/or expand a significant service to the community.
