
Congratulations to the 12 swimmers who competed at the Austin Grand Prix meet on January 12th-15th. Senior swimmers saw huge success in the pool after coming home from an intense week of training at the Olympic Training Center over the holiday break.
Senior, Daniel Graviss achieved his first Olympic Trials time with a 7th place finish in the 1500 Free with a time of 15:46.75. Daniel had a great meet also achieving new Summer National times in the 400 Free (4:00.54) and 400 IM (4:32.55). In addition to Daniel, Simone Manuel added to her Olympic Trial events by swimming to a 2:17.94 in the 200 Back. Simone also added the 400 Free (4:27.00) to her NSCA Junior National events.
Several other FCST swimmers added to their national meet line ups with their outstanding swims: Antoine Marc (NCSA Junior Nationals – 400 IM), Brett Pinfold (Summer Nationals – 100 FR & 200 FR, Short Course Junior Nationals – 400 FR, and NCSA Junior Nationals – 100 FY), Kaitlyn Swinney (Summer Nationals – 400 IM), Madison Varisco (NCSA Junior Nationals – 400 FR), and Kyle Yu (Short Course Nationals – 200 BR, and NCSA Junior Nationals – 200 BK).
FCST swimmers are looking to improve on this success and add a few more swimmers to their Olympic Trials roster before the big meet in June.
