Fireworks and fun highlight 4th of July Celebration

June 21, 2012 by FortBendStar

Photo courtesy of Missouri City Folks of all ages enjoy dancing to the beat of a DJ during last year’s 4th of July Celebration.

Fireworks, pony rides, a DJ playing toe-tapping music and a chance to challenge a mechanical bull are all part of Missouri City’s spectacular 28th annual 4th of July Celebration. The first 600 kids (12 and under) in attendance will receive a free giveaway.

All activities will be on tap from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Buffalo Run Park, 1122 Buffalo Run Blvd. on Wednesday, July 4. The fireworks show over the lake will begin around 9: 15 p.m. Bring the entire family and don’t forget blankets and lawn chairs for an evening full of fun! Food will be available for purchase.

Parking is available nearby at Thurgood Marshall High School. Residents are reminded that fireworks are illegal in the city limits of Missouri City and it is also against the law to transport or store fireworks inside the City limits.

All City Offices will be closed July 4, but there will be no change in the Municipal Solid Waste Program pickup schedule.
