Whether you enjoy classic literature or a gritty crime novel, Fort Bend County Libraries invites you to share that love of reading with other book lovers at one of First Colony Branch Library’s book clubs. These book clubs meet monthly at the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, and new members are always welcome.
Members of the Sugar Land Great Books Adult Discussion Group meet on the third Tuesday of the month to discuss classic literature. The book group will meet on December 17, at 7:00 pm, in the Conference Room. The book to be discussed is Amsterdam, a novel written by Ian McEwan.
A variety of genres are discussed at the First Colony Book Group, which normally meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, beginning at 1:30 pm, in the Conference Room. Because of the holidays, the book club will meet on December 18, when they will discuss The Christmas Train, a novel written by David Baldacci.
The Amiga Book Club, a discussion group for Spanish-speaking readers, normally meets on the last Thursday of the month, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Conference Room. The group will not meet in December. Their regular schedule of meetings will resume in January.
The book clubs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2800 or the libraries’ Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
