The leadership team at “A Country Affair,” the annual Fall Festival at First United Methodist Church Missouri City (FUMCMC), recently presented a $1,200 donation to East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry to help the Stafford -based interfaith organization purchase bulk food for its food pantry operation.
East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry is one beneficiary of proceeds from A Country Affair, a family-friendly carnival, craft market and silent auction held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the FUMCMC campus, located at the corner of Lexington Boulevard and Murphy Road in Missouri City.
A Country Affair has raised a total of over $270,000 for FUMCMC ministries and community programs since the event’s inception in 1995. A Country Affair is always scheduled on the second Saturday in November.
“Unfortunately, too many families in our community are going through tough financial times,” said Cher Binks, co-chairperson of A Country Affair at FUMCMC. “We’re called upon to love our neighbors, and by giving to East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, we can help stock the food pantry and provide loving support to people in our community who struggle to make ends meet.”
