Remember, it was just a couple of weeks ago when a man was robbed then taken hostage as he fished along the banks of a Sugar Land pond one Sunday morning. The incident occurred at 11:19 a.m., in the 14100 block of the Southwest Freeway.
At the time, Sugar Land public information officer Doug Adolph said the 58 year old man was fishing in a lake along the feeder road when he was approached by a black male with a pistol. The pistol wielding mullet demanded the fisherman’s keys to his car parked nearby.
Then in another wave of bad luck, the pistol toting mullet discovered the car he had just hijacked was a standard transmission; he could not drive a stick shift!
So, mullet man jumps to Plan B. Yes, to add insult to injury, or…felony on top of felony… mullet man takes the fisherman he has already robbed at gunpoint, forces him into the car, and makes drive him to Stafford. Once in Stafford near Wright Road and Kirkwood Drive, mullet man got out of the fisherman’s car and disappeared.
The fisherman drove immediately to a nearby gas station, flagged down a Stafford police officer who then contacted Sugar Land police to come and assist the victimized fisherman. At the time of the incident, the suspect was only described as a 16 to 17 year old male about 5’7”, with a thin build and short hair. He was wearing black pants, a red hoodie and blue latex gloves.
Now Sugar Land police have released a sketch of the suspect. Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275-2540 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
