Two free fishing events featuring lots of family fun will be held for Missouri City residents next month.
On Sept. 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., a program that teaches children how to make their own fishing poles will be offered by the Missouri City and Sienna branches of the Fort Bend County Library and Missouri City’s Parks & Recreation Department. It will be held at the Missouri City Community Center, 1522 Texas Parkway, and there are 100 fishing poles available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All children must be accompanied by an adult to receive a fishing hook. Food, drinks and a movie geared for youngsters will be part of the entertainment.
And on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Community Park, 1700 Glenn Lakes Lane, Missouri City will host its annual KIDFISH outing. Participants 16 and younger who come out will spend the morning catching and releasing plenty of fish and prizes will be awarded for the largest catch by age group.
