Five Fort Bend ISD schools have made the 2011 Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC) Honor Roll. The schools are: Clements High School; Fort Settlement Middle School; Commonwealth Elementary School; Drabek Elementary School; and Walker Station Elementary School.
This is the sixth-consecutive year that Fort Settlement Middle School has been recognized. Walker Station Elementary has been recognized for the past four years. Clements has been recognized five of the past six years. This is the third year for Commonwealth Elementary School and the first year for Drabek Elementary School.
They are among only 253 of Texas schools that were honored this year,
representing less than four percent of our state’s 8,000 public schools.
The TBEC Honor Roll is the most prestigious award for sustained, academic excellence in Texas. It recognizes schools that have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. TBEC Honor Roll schools have the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most rigorous standard—commended—in every subject.
TBEC will recognize all the 2011 Honor Roll schools on Friday, December 2, at an awards reception and dinner in Dallas sponsored by HEB.
