Fort Bend Cares Road Trip to the Orient held on February 9, sped past its goal of being able to contribute $1M to the disadvantaged children of Fort Bend County through a yearly grant process. Fort Bend Cares will have achieved their goal of $1 million dollars in less than 10 years when the 2013 grants are awarded in June 2013.

Greg Haralson, CEO of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land was in attendance. Also in attendance, Jim Brown with Memorial Herman Health System and Dr. Scott Breeze with Richmond Bone & Joint as well as a parade of Who’s Who in Fort Bend County including Laura Reynolds from Sports Radio 610 as Emcee.
“The Road Trip Committee worked tirelessly to produce the finest in entertainment, turning the Fluor Cafeteria into an Oriental paradise”, says Rick Conley, Chairman of the Fort Bend Cares Board of Directors. A wide assortment of 12 local restaurants showed off their finest cuisine delighting the taste buds of the guests.
Auctioneer Jim Richard produced great results as the live auction alone raised $56,540.
